My 2nd/3rd Shooter

Well, the last few weddings I decided to do something a little different. Tyler is usually my one and only 2nd shooter but it doesn't always work out so perfect. So in those situations we have this lovely lady help us out here and there and I couldn't be more thankful. I think being pregnant has played apart, as well as Tyler DJing along side shooting a wedding played a big part in our decision to bring in another photographer. Chelsea Wright is Tyler's cousin and she has grow so dear to me. One thing I love about Chels is her eye! (Yes she has gorgeous blue eyes but thats not my point) She sees angles and situation differently than I do and it has proven to be such a huge asset to each wedding. And she was a huge help at the Halcomb wedding when my feet started to swell and my back needed a break. She has helped us shoot 2 weddings and here is were you can find some of her stuff.

A little more about her...

She goes to school at Watkins College of Art, Design & Film. She is studying photography and is just one heck of an artist over all. Here is a fun fact about Chels... she ride motocross bikes competively! Crazy right?!
But she is great! Originally Chels wanted to get into wedding photography but since school and taking a step back to really think about what she wants to do with her life she has a great vision for a huge opportunity. She wants to design, photograph, create, and produce the first women's "extreme sports" magazine. I could be missing some of the detail but over all she is breaking new ground in her sport and media coverage of her sport among other sports that aren't getting that much attention.

Anyway... here is some of her shots from the most recent wedding... Halcomb Wedding

There were many more but this is just a glimpse! Love ya Chelsea and thanks so much for all your help!

Hippie Shoot

Here it is! The super fun hippie shoot! It was so fun to do this shoot. These girls are just simply gorgeous and so full of life. I loved spending the day with them and getting them all dolled up for a fun shoot. What originally inspired me to do this shoot was the trees that were blooming pink and white. But I didn't really get many pictures of those but I am not any bit disappointed. I also was hoping for the perfect sun set but instead I got a super cloudy day which worked out to be great lighting. I didn't get what I was originally wanting but I got amazing pictures and a super fun time. Enjoy!

PEACE LOVE & a HIPPIE THEMED SHOOT

I really wish this month wasn't a slow wedding month for us. I just LOVE spring weddings. Especially when everything is in bloom.

So I am gonna make a shoot. Every time I look at the pink trees I just think Forest Gump/ Hippie. I want to use some crazy sun flare, woodsy, and tall grassy area. So to make this happen I got 3 high school girls from my church to volunteer there gorgeous faces for 1-1 1/2 hrs. I think Im a bit of a hippie at heart so I have some clothes that Im gonna dress them up in. (There costume is my clothing.)

I think I have a secret weapon prop that you will love but you will have to wait and see when I post the shoot at a later date. I hope this all works out how I envision it!

For now…. PEACE OUT!

"Where's Tyler"

So today I had intended on blogging a shoot but the internet is ridiculously slow! Like someone at the internet place is April Fooling me. So I thought I would keep this simple with a more obvious, not so funny, but fun "Where's Tyler" We took this a while ago but I just came across it again today. I am growing very fond of reflection pictures.... I have another that I will share in the future!

This was taken with our point and shoot on our 1yr Anniversary.

I hope you had a great April 1st and that you aren't as gullible as me. But luckily no one really pranked me except Tyler. He said he was getting off of work early....

HA! I should have known... He never is off early.

Love,

Terrific Tory

A few weeks ago we had a wedding in Peoria, IL. (The Sholtes Wedding) The issue was is that Tyler was a groomsmen in the wedding and I could do it on my own but I prefer a second shooter. So we had to improvise. Tory is like our go to guy for everything. In Tyler's DJ business Tory learned how to use all the equipment and has helped Tyler out on many DJ gigs. Naturally we know he has a gift at learning things quickly and jumping in to help out with no hesitation.

So I knew that Tory was riding up to Peoria with us and it was perfect timing to ask him if he wanted to us help out. I asked if him if while I was taking pictures of the guys if he could just get some candids for me. He did a wonderful job! I was pleasantly surprised. We love Tory like a brother and we are so thankful for all the help and love he has given us. Check him out. No really ladies... he is single. Just kidding, check out the shots he was able to get.

I just love the way he stands when he is shooting.
Like I said he jumped in with no hesitation.

Tyler does this all the time too! Just sneaks into my shot.
Where's Waldo/Tory?

Here is just a few of his shots... see why Im so proud.

Thank you Tory so much for all of your hard work that day and the great product you produced.... You're a great second shooter! And you are a great friend. God bless you brother.

Hope you enjoyed.

I scream You scream...

We all scream for ICE CREAM.

My most loved "food".... ICE CREAM. My all time favorite flavor is chocolate. Nothing can ever top chocolate... chocolate is my weak point and I give in everytime when presented with the opportunity to eat it. I have found a new second best flavor...(drum-roll) Blueberry Cheesecake!! Yes I know this was a new flavor to me too but my favorite ice cream shop here in Cookeville, TN is Cream City and they introduced it to me. Here's a weird fact, this ice cream is much better in a dish not on a cone. You are able to enjoy it more in a dish. (Yes I know I sound like the crazy ice cream lady but trust me, I know my ice cream.) And I feel I would be doing you wrong if I didnt tell you my third favorite ice cream... it is Plain Yogurt ice cream. YUMMM! Slightly tart and a pinch of lemon flavor. Phenomenal! Its great plain but if you need some other flavors on it just throw some walnuts on it with some chocolate chips. Have a great day! And go get you some ice cream!

So this is it! My favorite ice cream shop in town.
This is Emily... She and her fiance David are the owners... I met Emily the first day they opened and let me tell you she is a sweetheart. She is one of the reasons I go there to get my ice cream. Maybe one day she will be my boss!
My parents were visiting Tyler and I and well I had to bring them to the shop. They love ice cream nearly as much as me!
I love my family! They are beautiful and handsome.

Vacation Bible School

So I don't often get the time to do baby or children shoots. I have none of my own...yet, and my niece's and nephew live in Indianapolis, IN. Let me say I love photographing children. Especially when they are just being themselves. There is just something so beautiful about capturing them in their element. Their imaginations, creativity, purity, and life just shine in photographs.

So as one of my few opportunities here in Cookeville thus far, I helped out this past June with our churches VBS (Vacation Bible School). I have never helped out with a VBS before so this was all new. I got to work in the nursery. Sounds crazy but there were 3 babies and 3 babysitters. It was a blast. (O how I cant wait to have babies of my own). Although I must say, that I have still, to this day never changed a dirty diaper. Im saving that experience for when I have kiddos of my own. I thought my time had come at VBS when one of the little ones way making some "noise" but it was a false alarm. She had just had too much cereal.

This is the adorable Eva!
These eyes are captivating...
This is Caroline, she is one of our pastors daughters. Precious!

This is Jude, this boy sure can sleep. He is super sweet.
These are some high school gals from church.
They are all so much fun! Cant wait to hang out with them again.

These are some of the older kiddos, not quite 1st grade.
They are so sweet!

Thanks to Grace Presbyterian Church for allowing me to volunteer at VBS and get great pictures of your beautiful children.

Our creative God

FALL

Well it is 10am here in Cookeville, TN and well I must say Fall has arrived! The current temperature is 59 degrees. This is much lower than it has been, last week we were still in the 90's and well I must say Im happy for the extreme change. It means that the fall wreath I have had on my door for over a month is now in season! Its funny, the second I saw a tree (yes "a" meaning singular tree) turing alittle yellow I went out and bought my supplies to make a fall wreath. Yes, I was a little eager but hey I know some people who are already listening to christmas music. So yay for fall! It has arrived.

These are some of my favorite pictures
I took about 2 years ago in Indianapolis, IN of FALL!
This takes my breath away!

The perfections of Gods creation and
His creativity just blows my mind away.
Happy Fall!

My Best Friends Wedding

My best friend Jenn Plumlee got married about a month ago. She was (is) beautiful and I am still so honored to have gotten the opportunity to stand next to her at her wedding. ( She was also in my wedding on Sept 12. 2009.) She and I met in the summer of 2007 at a summer mission trip to Orlando, FL. She transferred to my school after that summer and from then we were always together. She and I's closest bond was, is, and will always be Jesus. She is truly a sister to me. So here are some pictures from her wedding weekend festivities. We had a blast! Enjoy...

This is the Bachelorette party!

We went to Chi-town for dinner and we took the train to get there.
That was my first time on a train. It was nothing like the movies but it was fun.

The day before the wedding Jenn's Mother-in-Law got all our nails done.
That speaks directly to a girls heart! Thank you Mrs. Plumlee.

She is beautiful! I love you sister!

The rehearsal was so fun. I just loved seeing everyone.
And Jenn looked so happy.

Here we are all getting ready for the WEDDING!
We made her a book of sweet memories and our advice to her on marriage.
Funny... I am the only married one.

Isn't she just gorgeous!

Tyler got some great pictures of Jenn and I.
Thanks babe, without you I would have no pictures with Jenn.
The happy couple!!
