Kevin & Jessica's Engagement Session

ENGAGEMENT

So I got to shoot these two love birds a few weeks ago. It was great. We did a sunset shoot and I couldnt have been more pleased with the results. I met Jessica through Tyler. They had classes together last year while they were getting their MBA's. Now she is getting married. We were so excited that she asked us to be apart of this season of life with her by doing her engagement photos. I wish them nothing but the best and for their marriage to be so blessed.

Enjoy!

We started the evening out at this abandoned building.
I just love... LOVE!
I asked Jessica to pick out some props for our time together and she wanted an empty picture frame. Guess who had one laying around the apartment.

Our bloopers from the day! But I must say I love these.
You are getting to see how fun these two are.

I think this should be framed in their home.
Seriously Jess! Your smile is perfect!
They just look so peaceful together.

Work it Kevin!

Jessica wanted to do this shot. I think it turned
out great! Good idea Jess!

This old broke down barn was perfect for Jessica's style.
Fierce. You two are working it!
This is one of my favorite from the day.
Bling Bling!
O how I love a good bear hug!

Well, hope you enjoying look at them as much as I do! Thanks Jessica and Kevin for such a fun night!

Love, CPP

Sister's Session

Im so pumped to share this post with you. These are two very dear friends of mine that I am so thankful for! This sister shoot for me was a huge blessing! They are both so encouraging and loving that it made this shoot soooo fun! They are both are the mother of 2. Lacy has 2 little girls and Mandy has 2 little boys. They are great mothers and amazing women of god and I am so thankful for them. This shoot was a tribute to these amazing women and their hearts for the home, mothering, and family. Thanks ladies!

These are some hot mama's!

They are just so beautiful! Inside and out.

I definitely would love to do a shoot with my sister.
This was too much fun!

They wanted to take this photo because they took one just like
this when they were younger and they knew there parents would love it.

Lacy has such a warm soul! I love all of our heart to hearts chats.

Fierce Lacy!

Mandy lights up a room when she walks in. She hilarious!

Mandy! Really!? This is gorgeous!

Love you ladies! Im so happy we found this barn across
the road from Lacy's house.

Thanks ladies for all the encouragement and love!

Where's Tyler?

This sequence it just too much! Really! I was shooting the adorable flower girl and POP! Tyler came out of no where and well before I knew it, he was gone. He is like the crouching Tyler, hidden dragon. I love it! You can see how fast I was shoot by the movement of the little girl. You know the kids at a wedding can't stand still. You can see how fast Tyler was in and out. Pretty funny if I do say so myself.

A sweet moment during the ceremony... and

Bam! There he is! Where did he come from?

And before you know it... Gone.

The man that was supposed to be playing music didn't hear his signal to play and because Tyler was hiding being the bushes getting some pictures, the bride asked him to go tell the musician to play. He said he didn't realize how far out there he was.

I want to give a special thanks to Tyler for the constant funny moments! I owe this post all you Tyler! Love you and thank you!

Cheap or Creative?

Call me cheap, frugal, bargain shopper, or whatever.... I can't help myself. I do it all the time. I am always trying to find the cheapest way to get something I want or need. On the Fun Facts page you will find my top 3 places to shop... you will notice that they are all centered around me saving money.

Here are a few examples:
1) I will never buy a throw pillow again when I can make one for nothing more than $5. Thanks to Hobby Lobby, Hancock Fabric and Walmart for giving my lots of inexpensive fabric choices to pick from.

2) I will never buy a $30 dollar wreath from a department store because I can go to the Family Dollar, make my own, and only spend about $4 or $5.

3) Many photographers use defusers. This defuses and bounces light off of walls, ceilings or just off the defuser itself. These range from $12-$40. Well, Tyler is an engineer and his mind just thinks in ways mine cannot and he found a way to make our own defuser for only 35 cents. We use flexable foam board and use a jumbo rubber band to hold it onto the actual flash.

4) And my most recent cost savings is my pride and joy... I made my own shootsac. Its not perfected yet but it serves the same purpose at the name brand. Shootsac is a bag that carries your lenses during a shoot. It is made with a padded fabric to protect your lenses. Click here to see the original Jessica Claire, Shootsac. I had to change some of the original fabrics but it works just the same. I AM PROUD TO SAY I USED MY HOMEMADE SHOOTSAC IN A SHOOT YESTERDAY AND IT WAS PERFECT! Light weight, flexible, and adorable. And it cost 8 to 9 times less than the name brand! I spent a total of $35 for enough materials to make 2 shootsacs. One for me and one for Tyler.

So I guess that just leaves me one question for you....
Do you think Im CREATIVE or CHEAP?
